Saturday November 10: UKF achieved two accolades at Belgium’s premier electronic music awards, Red Bull Elektropedia.
Established in 2009, Red Bull Elektropedia is Belgium’s foremost celebration of high quality and creative events, acts and recordings as voted by the most important people: the fans. This year’s awards process enjoyed at total of 15,694 voters, each of them pledging support in nineteen different categories including Best Live Act, Best Song, Beat Breakthrough Event, Best Breakthrough Artist, Best Remix, Best Album, Best Video, Best DJ, Best Festival, Best Artwork and Best Big Event.
The voting took place throughout the month of October and the awards were announced at a grand ceremony at Flanders Expo, Ghent on Saturday night. The runaway success of the night was local D&B artist Netsky who was recognised with Best Live Act, Best Song and Best Album and Artist Of The Year awards. In terms of AEI success, brand founder Luke Hood was present to collect an award for Best (Really Big) Party.
“We’re really pleased to have the honour of accepting this award from Red Bull,” states Luke. “Having only done two shows in Belgium it’s amazing to get so much support as voted by the public! I would also like to give a massive thanks to Murdoch who has helped make this happen, as well as every artist that has been part of the shows.”
UKF Rampage also picked up a second award for its visual iconography. Both events – held at Antwerp’s 7000-capacity Lotto Arena on March 3 and September 29 respectively – achieved sell out status thanks to their impressive bass music line-ups and loyal brand following in Belgium. The coalition of skills shared between Belgian brand Rampage and UKF are an exemplary example of how international brands can work together to create distinguished parties that genuinely stand out from the competition. It also highlights the exciting international event strategy in place at AEI Media.
“Winning this award for UKF in Belgium is such an incredible achievement and only further demonstrates our on-going dedication and commitment to excellence with our live business,” states Jenni Cochrane, Head Of Events & Tours. “The Red Bull Award for Best ‘Really Big’ Party falls perfectly in line with our new events strategy and growing global events business, and will hopefully be the first of many like this we receive in the future!”
